Some of the New Stuff on GW site

It's dark. It's grim. There's a big eye that's terrorizing. Suck it, Sauron!

I think the new gemstone paints are an awesome idea. I don't know if there is another company that is making something like this but this seems like an innovative idea. New and better metallics are always better and welcome as I personally hate painting metallics and hold off doing it until it's the last thing I have to paint. The bases too are very good although I'm not a huge fan of fancy bases. This is what GW should be doing - making better hobby and model supplies, not writing rules.

Also these are totally awesome. It needs other stuff to complete a table but a few of these would be nice to set the terrain mood.

I think I'll try out some of those Gemstone paints to see how I like them for scope lenses and such.

The bases are priced competitively to other plastic base manufacturers out there, and notably cheaper than resin bases like you'd get through Dragonforge. I already have a basing scheme but they're really nice.

I'm unconvinced by the gemstone paints. I'd have to see some effects in person to get an idea how I feel about them.

Those cargo containers are awesome, and I want a set for my table. They also are priced fairly competitively with a bunch of other cargo containers put out by terrain manufacturers, and they look nicer to boot.

All in all I'd say it's been a good week for GW releases.

I saw examples of the gemstone paints down at GW in RI.

They're kinda like the Blood for the Blood God tech paint, just brighter. I think if you want good gems/lenses, you have to spend the time.

The gloss washes are intriguing though. And the new metallic layer paints.

The gloss washes are great for people who miss the old inks.

I think it's fine if you want to do gems the hard way but if you are young and or new to the game and you play eldar it will help you finish painting your army to a good standard faster.

If you get em, GW put out a super simple tutorial for how to use them:

The end results are nice, especially for how quick you can do it.
