Deathwatch! Holy cow!

It's dark. It's grim. There's a big eye that's terrorizing. Suck it, Sauron!

My thoughts:
- That Death Masque box set contains about $200 worth of Eldar alone, no telling what the Deathwatch stuff is worth. For 20% off, that's a hell of a bargain.
- Man that Deathwatch stuff looks good, love the update of Captain Artemis from Inquisitor and that Aliens-style gunship is fuckin cool.
- Suck it, xenos nerds

I don't care much about Deathwatch per se. But it's refreshing seeing GW issue an honest-to-god Codex for a change. And particularly one that's "cool" in a circa-2000-omg-the-new-dex-rox kinda way.
And I'm being serious, btw. This release has an old school vibe to it. It feels as though the impulse comes from an earlier era.

Personally I'm pretty into the idea of getting a small Deatwatch force, and I think the models look really cool. The fact that they're fleshing out a faction that people have wanted to know more about since 3rd edition is pretty sweet too.

The first Deathwatch stuff is up for sale:

Also, signaling something of a new era for GW, they actually let a popular 40k podcast interview the writers of the rulebook!
