Magnus the Red - Deamon Primarch

It's dark. It's grim. There's a big eye that's terrorizing. Suck it, Sauron!

I only read the World Eaters and Alpha Legion rules, but those look really good. I think Khorne still suffers most from lack of assault vehicles or drop pods. In a world where Marines get 75 different ways to get across the battlefield, you'd think Chaos would get at least one more option. Oh well.

From what I can tell this gives CSM 4 different dexes to pull from?

Chaos Space Marines
Black Legion
Crimson Slaughter
Traitor Legions

Couple that with the "Daemon stuff" that you can ally in:

Chaos Daemons
Khorne Daemonkin

And the stuff from campaigns:
Traitor's Hate
Curse of the Wulfen
Wrath of Magnus

That's a metric crapton of options. Ignoring power levels of all that stuff, it's hard to argue with the sheer amount of choice you've got that this isn't the best off that Chaos has been in a long time.

I read the Black Legion and Night Lords rules last week and they are both suitably fluffy and promote building lists for both the way you'd think they work in the fluff.

The Iron Warriors ones are super cool, but I really love the Alpha Legion rules. The one where you can't get slay the warlord unless you kill every character (I am Alpharius, after all) is so goddamn fluffy and fun.

Yeah, that's a great rule. I was stoked just to see the Infiltrate back, the Warlord trait really loads the flavor on.

It is very nice to see the Legions get some love again, at least rules wise.

Thousand Sons getting some models makes me feel warm and fuzzy, but I want to see a little more. Rumors indicate Abaddon getting a new model early in the new year, so I hope they follow suit with some plastic plague marines and some updated khorne (though khorne has plastic - so it might need to wait a bit even if the models are ancient).

Are we taking bets on the next Daemon primarch?

(SPOILER BELOW)
At the end of Wrath of Magnus - SPOILERS INCOMING!!!!

They rebooted the 13th Black Crusade and the reports coming to the Imperial Palace indicated the return of multiple daemon primarchs. So who do you think is next? Mortarion? Angron (probably easy with an upgrade to the bloodthirster kit)? Fulgrim?

Or will the Loyalists return? Logan Grimnar saw a vision of Russ and is convinced the WolfTime is upon them! Dorn? Khan? Could the rumors be true that they bring back the Iron Hands primarch?

Inquiring minds want to know!

There's a holiday gift guide that includes a paint called "Death Guard Green" and they just released new paints for the Thousand Sons, so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw plastic Plague Marines next.

They should have taken the original Abaddon sculpt and just upscaled him 10% when they moved to Finecast. The sculpt is good, it's just small. That being said, I'd love to see what they could do with a new one.

Would be nice to see more Cult Marines and Cult Terminators.
