Skulltaker needs a running crew of deep-strike capable meat shields. (And, as a bonus, they can serve as AoS demons, should I choose to go that route.)

So, that's what I'm a-painting on this month:

The hamster brain with the banner of blood kept falling over, so I took it off for the photo. They're all armed with hellblades, although the ones modeled with the hellblades down at their right sides, parallel to the ground, stick out like three inches in front of the models' bases. So for those, I'm swapping out the hellblades for shorter weapons. (The 'thirster on the far right is "Stabby," and the banner bearer will be "Choppy," and the musician will be "Cleave-y.")

These pictures are too dark, I just couldn't get a good light source. Plus the paint job itself is dark... blah blah short stack of excuse cakes... My first attempt at these guys was coal black/grey bodies with the bony/warty protuberances on their backs and arms painted like glowing embers, as if the demons were on fire from within. That didn't work. At all. So I went with dark and understated, to keep the theme with the rest of my Chaos/Demonkin. I don't lurve them, but at least they're painted. And they're destined to be ablative meat-shields for Skulltaker, anyway.

"What the hell? This is so dark, Ron must be hiding a real shit job on these..."

The dark colors and bright green eyes make me think of prog rock blacklight posters in a good way.

You mean those bloodletters are the owners of a (still beating) lonely heart?
