2016 Painting Results Thread and New Year link!

Time for the end of year painting numbers for those of us that keep track of that sort of thing.

Pretty good overall for most of us... And without further hoopla, I'll start the recount.

Campbell was the most productive this year and edged out Jon just barely as both of them are insane. Campbell assembled 237 models and painted a whopping 263. Lots of GW models for Captain Retro Models with a lot of Ultramarines (both old 40k and new old 30k versions, backed up by lots of Orks, some Guard and a whole mess of 9th Age/Sigmar (yay dual use!) Empire Pyjama Party Guys. Oh, and Spoiler Alert, he's got some Black Templars on his log as well... Looking forward to seeing those!

Jon came in "2nd" this year with 243 assembled models and 169 painted ones. He spent a lot of time on Grey Knights, IG, Tyranids, and a bunch of Malifaux models. He also started assembling a 9th Age/Sigmar Empire army as well though mostly Cav focused. He topped everything off with some Battletech Mechs and a little bit of Flames of War as well! Very productive year.

Next is actually me! Rather than thinking about painting things, I actually did it! 243 assembled models and 151 actually painted! For me there was a LOT of Undead for 9th Age/Sigmar. Ghouls, Skeletons, Zombies, more Zombies, some more Ghouls, some Ghasts, Bats, Wolves, Vampires, and some Malifaux, Flames of War Germans, and some Battletech Minis rounded out the year for me. I need to continue this momentum, but most likely I'll flake out and basically get nothing done all winter! :)

Coming in right behind me was Dylan. With 159 assembled and 120 painted, Dylan basically mirrored me in working on a lot of Undead, but his stuff didn't look like it was painted by a drugged out marmot with ADD. He also painted a lot of randome 40k miniatures most likely made during the Thatcher administration, and got some BFG assembled. Terrain was a big focus for Dylan and we've seen the results in the various battle report threads. Excellent job Dylan!

Marc comes in next with 117 Assembled and 118 Painted. On top of all this he got married which is way more important than painting. Congrats Marc! Marc mostly focused on Malifaux this year with lots of filthy Arcanists, but he also did a lot of Xwing and Infinity and some Terrain. Lots of diversity and lots of awesome looking models. Keep it up Marc!

Last but definitely not least comes Matt. 77 Assembled, 75 painted, and probably all of them to an exceptionally high standard. He painted up pretty much the entire Arcanists faction this year and while it isn't listed, he also built probably 35 tables worth of terrain. He's got mental issues. Seriously. :)

No one else is listed on the doc this year, but I know Mason painted a Drop Pod and completely ignored Lysander. :)

The new spreadsheet for 2017 can be found here:

If you're interested in the OLD sheet, it can be found here:

Old sheet will be "locked" eventually once I remember to do it...

If you'd like to be added to the tracker, PM me and I'll add you a tab! It's good fun and gives something cool to look back on at the end of the day. As always, the purpose isn't to compete (since either Campbell or Jon would "win" anyway) but to encourage people to paint and show nice progress in their goals!

As always, keep painting!

Congrats everyone to a productive year.

I'd like to point out that I managed my output starting the year with no hobby space and all my stuff packed up.

I actually spent the first 4 months building out my game/hobby room before I could even start to assemble or paint anything.

Well done, sirs. I've enjoyed seeing all the cool paint jobs in 2016. In fact, the DM Painting and Modeling thread, and porn from the Czech Republic, were really the only two socially redeeming things on the innerweb last year.

Happy to be a part of the Paint Progress Tracking sheet again! It's been a great way to keep myself organized. Great work from everybody, especially Dylan who pulled out a buttload of models at the eleventh hour! 263 models is also a record for me, one I intend to break in the new year. I'm already up to 3 painted minis, after all...
