Start sprayin' the news

Postby mace_ace » Wed Mar 15, 2017 10:12 am

Guys, I'm fucked. I've had a shit load of models that I've put together since October and haven't been able to spray them given the weather and the fact that Lisa's pregnancy levels of smell rival those of James "The Wolverine" Logan. So sprayin g in the garage won't work because she can smell it strongly through the whole house.
Does anyone have a decent winter spraying solution that I could come use?

Get yourself an airbrush. I do all my priming and varnishing with it nowadays as it is unaffected by the weather.

I still couldn't use it in the house though.

Why? They smell of spray paint is from the propellent not the paint.

All winter I've been doing my spraying outside then bringing it in a little while afterwards. Some days have been nice enough (above 40 degrees and in the sun) that I've been able to leave things drying outside. I usually leave stuff in the back hallway or something so they're out of the way and I'm not smelling that aerosol, because that stuff keeps smelling for about 24 hours.

I use an airbrush. The other option is the vallejo surface primer. Its what I use in the airbrush BUT it is an amazing brush on primer too. I buy the huge bottles so it lasts. Its not as quick if brushing on but can get you some where.
