He was a lot of fun to paint - I would have hashed him out in one sitting if I didn't take a nap while the wash dried.

This guy here is Maximillian Weisemann, who was a Forgeworld Baneblade commander from back in the day. I'll use him as a regimental advisor, planetary governor, or something of the sort.

Nice! I can picture him standing next the regimental commander casually taking pot shots at a distant enemy. or ally!

So this isn't strictly Valhallan related, although it is for their table!

I've been bad about working on my Skullingrad table, but just today I finished working on a big centrepiece building with a hab block. I used the Pegasus gothic kit, plus a bunch of GW bits, Cities of Death short walls, some O scale resin accessories, and an old GW movement tray to put the whole thing together. Anyway, here's the finished hab block, or as I call it, Barbie's Grimdark Dreamhouse:

Uh, no, he clearly stated it was a building. Dams are at least twice that wide. #duh

How dare you use lovely models to accentuate the city landscape architecture! How dare you sir!

I'm pretty sure that would disqualify me in some circles!

I just recently finished the last 5 Stormtroopers to round out my Ground Assault Formation. Unfortunately I lost the gold recipe so they're slightly different than the other 30, but they should blend in well enough:

And here's the whole Ground Assault Formation! I've been running it for a while, but now it's at maximum strength:

And with that, my Stormtrooper project is done!

Fielding these Miltar-whatever Stormtroopers next to the Valhallans would be a cool contrast between "peasants with lasguns" and "elite Soviet commandos."

Are you mainly using these dudes as allies, or their own army?

I've been fielding them alongside the Valhallans - the Stormtrooper formation ends up being like 1350 or something like that, so in an 1850 game I can pretty easily fit a Valhallan firebase in. I played a game with Mason the other week where I had these guys plus some Guard veterans in a Chimera backing them up.

Thanks!

I've wanted to do a Knight for a while, and after getting the Renegade box set at NOVA and doing some homework on Knight schemes, I found one I really liked from Epic:
Image

So began a project that was kind of a nightmare at every opportunity, from primers not matching paints, to paints not covering, to sourcing decals and then having those transfers rip and fall apart, to my cat knocking the damn thing over and breaking it more than once, but it's finally done and I'm finally happy with it. Joke's on me for choosing a primarily yellow color scheme, I guess:

I even painted LAKAR on the chestplate upside down and had to rewrite it, proving no step of this project was safe from frustration:

Base deets:

And you can bet I magnetized everything! I actually had a lot of fun doing that:

And all the bits:
