Damn, man, that looks great! That's definitely a centerpiece you can be proud of. Excellent job!

Very nice! I'd love to see it in person.

That thing sure does look destructive.

Great job with the yellow--it's got, like, warmth and depth, man. Sounds like it was a pain in the brisket, but it definitely worked out in the end. I guess now we know where Valhalla's munitorium has been spending all the money it saves by scrimping on warm clothing and hot food--hiring that guy!

Thanks guys! I owe the warmth and depth to the orange wash I used in the recesses, it really broke up the big flat sections of yellow.

And Mason, you probably will see it in person! I'll just be sure to warn you ahead of time because I don't wanna be the guy who brings a superheavy to a regular game unannounced.

That's cool. It will give me a reason to break out the Warhound.

I was at the new Warhammer store in town and I split the Leman Russ/Techpriest box with a new friend. I painted this guy up real quick, and he was a fun model to boot:

That Adeptus Mechanicus dude is making me want to break out the Sons Of Mars again.

And that giant amazing Knight is just mind-blowing. Great detail on the heraldry, and the bright colors bring out all the details the modeler put in. (How _does_ one access that crew hatch on the right shoulder? 'very carefully'?)

Thanks Alex! I imagine they're lowered onto the hatch, like R2 into an X-Wing.

Please do.

The Knight photos make me really want one, but the pain in getting it together making eye not want one.

I really enjoyed the process of assembling and painting my knight. I also didn't paint mine yellow...

Building the Knight was fun! Magnetizing wasn't hard!

Painting, even though I left the armor plates off, made me want to lay down on the freeway and just see what happens.

It was that bad even with the plates off? From a distance (haven't started assembling mine), it looks fairly doable. Sucks to hear it sucked. I'm assuming this was more of a "mind numbing suck" kind of thing or was it more of a "omg so much to detail" kind of thing?

It was a "why am I painting all this yellow" kind of deal. The spray primer I used didn't match the GW paints, and the Army Painter bottle paint that's a 100% match has the worst coverage of any paint I've ever used. Getting smooth coats over such large, rounded plates was a bit of work, and picking out all the metal detail wasn't the worst, but it was tricky.

Honestly 90% of my woes came down to the scheme, if I just painted the thing green or something then none of this would have been an issue I don't think.

Ok, that's not too horrible I guess... I'm probably going to go quasi against the "tradition" and do mine in Space Wolves colors with a bit of heraldry thrown in to represent a Knight Errant "allied" with the Wolves... cause that's ultimately what the Space Wolves need... a baby titan to back up the pitifully weak Thunderwolves and Wulfen. :)

It's not uncommon to have a more chapter-themed Knight; wearing the chapter badge on the kneepad of the Knight is apparently a huge honor!

I've just been bouncing around and painting characters lately, and I got around to painting one of my favorite old Daemonhunters sculpts:
