JR's eldar

Postby Nebushadnezar » Sat Jun 08, 2013 8:27 pm

I expect to post a few new eldar painted figurines in the near future, so lets start a thread.
First I got a box of Wraightguard/wraightblade. The models looks great. Of course it is slightly larger than the older model, its GW, but not so big as to make the old obsolete IMO. Good, so I can keep my 10 old wraight guard with wraightcannon and make 5 wraightguard with D-Scythes with the new kit. More than 5 would be too costly in points anyway.

That's a big size jump, pretty though.

I don't think so. They are about the same width and when put on a base about the same height. I don't think I can hide the old ones really better than the new ones. Obviously I won't go in tournament with them but heh. Good enough for me.

Man, those are beefy. More in line with the toughness 6 really. Cant wait to get my hands on some wraithblades. I'm a little jealous of your oldie mini and his more dynamic pose.

I don't think it is too hard to get ahold of those old mini's...

They are beefier, but mixed in a squad on the tabletop, you don't notice so much.

FW tallarn and the old metal Tallarn have a similar difference in size, and they aren't too ridiculous next to each other. At least, I don't think so.

So I have taken my old eldar army out of the boxes. After removing a very thick layer of dust I realized that my standard have gone up since last I worked on them. I am not about to repaint them but I can certainly rework the bases. Anybody know good not so expensive alieny base providers. I will also do my research but would like to have your opinions.

The ones that brad used for his elder army looked awesome. I don't know where he got them from.

I am fairly certain I have a handful of the old ones laying around.

Mine are on Dragonforge Design's "Lost Empire" series... they're AWESOME for Eldar.

Especially the "hero bases"

And the big 60mm Wraithlord bases

They look even better when painted by Patrick and lots of dead leaf scatter used on them! :)

I use Dragonforge bases for my Dark Angels. They take a little while to get the order out to you since it's like, one dude, but they're great bases.

Yeah, I haven't anything from him/them as of now (except for the money taken from paypal).
