40k Refugee

New to the DorkaMorka Forums? Why not introduce yourself and say, "Hi!"

40k Refugee

Postby Ignite Memories » Sun Sep 06, 2015 5:43 pm

Hi there. I'm new here - I heard about this group from SRM, who I play 40k with occasionally. He mentioned that he played occasional 40k games with a local club, but that most folks have switched over to Malifaux at this point. I realized this sounded like a great idea, and bought a box of Gremlins. Now I'm looking for folks to play some introductory games with.

I'm a watertown local, and I understand there are meetups here sometimes! Is this a thing that happens regularly, or just whenever folks feel like it? How should I go about getting involved?

ZOMG!!?!! Did someone say MALIFAUX!!! Blearg!

So, welcome, and yes, we play a fair share of Malifaux on Thursday nights at the Eagles...

We usually get together around 6:00 or so, perhaps a little later. The best way to get a game is to post on the match up section of theses boards for a game... Or answer one that's already up!

Now, the hall we play in has no A/C, as such, we have taken the summer off. I was hoping to get back there this coming Thursday, but between the Patriots kick off and the heat wave this week, I don't think anyone will be there.

Ditto on the Malifaux excitement! Welcome to the boards. Look forward to getting games in with you.

I'm a Watertown local so we'll get some games in sometime I'm sure.

Welcome! Ditto everything that Drool and Jonasty said, Malifaux is definitely our hot game right now, but there's still a few people that play 40k. This week will definitely be a pretty much no attendance with the heat and the Pats kick off, but we'll be back and active after that. :)

So if I go to the Eagles this thursday, I could probably watch a game or two?

Or play one! I'd be happy to do an introductory/teaching game... I've got a decent amount of gremlin stuff, so if you're interested, just say the word. :) It'd be a no pressure learning game in a nice relaxed atmosphere.

That'd be great! I haven't got a rulebook yet, but I've watched some battle reports so I've got a rough idea of how the game goes. Cool, I'll drop by this Thursday.

Awesome. I'll put together enough for a small demo game. That way you can learn the mechanics and the basics so you've got something to build on.
