Malifaux Battle Report

Brad (Ressers - Yan Lo) vs Ian (Outcasts - Von Schill)

Crews:

Yan Lo (Brutal Khakkhara, Fortify the Spirit, Reliquary)
Chaki the Niece (Pull of the Grave)
Yin the Penangalen (Unnerving Aura)
Izamu the Armor (Unnerving Aura)
Soul Porter (totem)
Toshiro the Diamyo (Command the graves)
Ashigaru

Von Schill (some upgrades)
Hannah (probably some upgrades (like Oathkeeper))
Strongarm Suit (probably oathkeeper)
Friekorps Librarian (probably oathkeeper)
Friekorps Scrub Guy (probably oathkeeper)
Friekorps Flamethrower Dude (probably oathkeeper even though you can only have 3)
Friekorps EOD Toolbox (Totally oathkeepered)

Mission was Turf War with Close Deployment.

Schemes were Entourage, Bodyguard, LITS, Protect Territory and Cursed Object.

This battle report will now be explained only via Haikus...

Turn One:

Ian wins init flip
Defers to me. Shooting starts.
I have no bullets.

Toshiro has fun.
He recieves many bullets
Meets death as he smiles

Ashigaru stands
Defying the storm of lead
Until he dies too.

Yan Lo dances quick
The Strongarm is compelled to
Izamu's embrace

Turn Two:

Yin focuses fear
Friekorp trembles in darkness
Performing his task

Izamu shouts loud
Ancestors tremble with pride
Strongarm charges away

Pummels poor Yan Lo
Inflicting much harm, stones burn
The Strongarm laughs loud

Master strikes poorly
The Strongarm brushes it off
Survives for the turn

Von Schill forms up ranks
Implacable assault - Chaki fades
No corpses remain

Turn Three:

The path is now clear
No points will be had today
Ancestors crumble

At this point we called it... I was going to lose probably the rest of my crew bar one model in turn 3. No chance of getting any VPs, though I did manage to squeak one from Cursed Object. My cards were horrible... In the two turns we played, My highest drawn card was an 8 with the rest being sub 5s. I did manage to draw the Black Joker turn one, which while reducing my hand size, would have been nice as I could ensure I never got it when it would count. I was regularly flipping 1's, 2's and 3's for defense. Ian wasn't flipping amazing, but he was generally flipping 8+ on things, which if your opponent is flipping like I was actually is amazing...

So, I got smashed. Bad. But writing this report was fun! And the game was fun at the end when it was so comically bad that you could only laugh at it!

And my crew looked awesome (Dylan's paint job. So stylish. Much Pretty.)

From the cheap seats it looked like this:

Ian: I flipped 13
Brad: I flipped a 2
Ian: A 12
Brad: a 4
Ian: Another 13 for some reason
Brad: an ace. Which I can cheat up to a six as that's the highest card in my hand.

Sounds like Brad needs a better auto shuffler.

You have to admit Alex... that last ace flip for Chaki was EPIC!

Yeah that looks like an Ian crew alright.

Heaven forbid Wyrd ever puts out an Outcast model called the Oathkeeper that can take that upgrade. Ian won't be able to play another game of Malifaux again without a raging erection.
