Postby Exokan » Mon Aug 12, 2013 1:41 pm

Dorkamorka is proud to announce...
Image
Saturday, October 19th

Here's quick rundown...

Format
+ This is an 24 person 1500 point Warhammer 40,000 tournament

+ The list of approved rules and armylists will be forthcoming but for now we can say that we love interesting, dynamic, and neat armies and units.

+ DorkaMorka always encourages an all-encompassing "full immersion" 40k experience. This means that in addition to the points earned from their games players will be scored on their list compositions, painting, and sportsmanship.

Location
+ This event will be taking place at The Fraternal Order of Eagles at 44 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, MA.

Registration:
+ The Entrance Fee is $20. This fee includes entry into the tournament as well as providing pizza for lunch.

+ Pre-registration is highly encouraged! If you want to pre-register, send a copy of your list and a PayPal payment of $20 to events@dorkamorka.com. Make sure you mark your PayPal payment as a "gift" so there will be no extra charges to you or to us. Also, please include your name and a contact email on your army list.

Miscellaneous Info
+ This is a 21+ event.

+++The full packet for this event can be foundHERE+++

+++Keep tuned to this page for updated info and questions/answers+++

So suit up, mark your calenders and prepare yourself for a Re-Shocking...!

Do we get a group rate if we make up more than 50% of the event this time?

I'm sure you'll see a bunch of us(whether you wanted to or not).

Oh and we have a preliminary packet for the Standoff now: http://forums.creativetwilight.com/inde ... g20681#new

Alas, I will be in Hawaii that weekend, finishing my honeymoon - do you guys have some sort of play-by-email option? :)

I'll be there again, but I'll probably have fewer than 200 models in my army this time.

+++Small Update+++

We've had a question about the painting minimums for the event. While we are still figuring out the specifics, for now we would require that your army is painted to a three color minimum and based.

You have over two months until the event... get those paint brushes going!

Not floating around in black slota-base land! A little bit of sand and/or flock won't kill anyone!

I know the packet isn't due for a couple weeks but do you have some basic info?

1- What time will it start(Yup we have a long drive and some carpooling to arrange)?
2- How many players(Curious if we can wait for the packet to register/pay)?
3- Will "that asshole Fred" be playing?

Huh... Strange. I posted an update saying that registration is open but it must not have gone through!

So... +++UPDATE+++ Registration is now open!

Also, as it says above, this is a twenty four person event.

Finally, and unfortunately, the event will start at 11, unless we somehow decide to do a parking lot registration...

So the new Space Marine codex came out. Some of us may or may not be running with some weirdo OP FW lists like the Carcharodons.

Is Tyberos no longer legal since he was clearly written for the old codex or do you think his rules are compatible enough for the new codex to not be a problem?

I need to look over the FW marine lists, but for now, I'd lean towards the following solutions:

1. Declare the army to be "Chapter Tactics: Carcharadons". That means you can use the codex like normal, but no one elses special characters. Basically just copy Ultramarines Doctrines but no access to their leadership.

2. Run it as "Chapter Tactics: Whatever you want" but don't take any Carchar characters...

If FW comes out with an FAQ prior to the tourney we'd go with that... Like I said, I'll look over the lists and see if that changes my mind.

What Brad (Thunderjaw) said but maybe try and Facebook Forgeworld. They're pretty solid about rules updates or questions...

Someone beat me to it. I suppose I'll just go with Raven Guard and leave Tyberos in the foam as FW seems to have been a bit slow in updating their rules for things.
