Battlegrounds 1850 Swedish Komp Tourni

Postby DAPatrick » Mon Mar 10, 2014 7:03 pm

March 22nd, 10:00AM, Plainsville store.
Talked to the owner today, loads of spaces available, but typically they will fill up their tournaments (36-40 players)
3 Points Max for the comp system using these guidelines:

Some interesting things in there. Most of the lists around Dorka would fall into the 0-1 Komp point lists, maybe a few would be 2 or 3.
This would be a great competitive event from the local area which is running a heavy composition. Best sportsman typically wins $100+ in store credit and there is a best appearance award as well (~$30 store credit).

Lists will be hard and the players will be good. Any interest from the community?

Registered.

I like the comp system at first glance and it seems like it will curb some abuse.

I agree. It will be interesting to see.

It says you've got to submit a list by the 17th. That's a week from today FYI.

Dude, that's great.
Please sign up ASAP if interested and drop later. These will ofen fill up a week or so in advance.
I would love to see some Dorka love for this event. It is a great attempt at a global comp system at an excellent venue with BEAUTIFUL scenery which rival's the Eagles IMO. There will be big awards for painting and sportsmanship. If we want games like this and this play-style to catch on, we need to support it. Battlegrounds will typically sell out of their tournaments that are zero comp. If an event like this doesn't do well then you really can't blame the store for not hosting more of them.

Brian and I went down there last Saturday for their Fantasy 750. Battleground is a great place and their stores are definitely worth supporting.

Yeah, I used to frequent the store's events before 40k took a turn to the shitter. I was initially going to skip this, but if there is support from the rest of ya'll I definitely may whip up a list and rock it out.

Either way I have nothing but good things to say about Battlegrounds. The store is clean, bright, and absolutely amazing.

Good news. Make sure you sign up early so it doesn't fill up. It'll be good to roll down with a solid crew that won't be all about playing a WAAC killer list game. Don't get me wrong, the people who play there are really good, but damn the lists are boring!

It looks like I won't be able to make this 40k tournament. Work conference that weekend. Damn, I was all gearing up for it and stuff.
