National Doughnut Day

Postby Brutal Legend » Fri Jun 03, 2016 8:27 am

Today, June 3rd, is National Doughnut Day. The Universe is speaking to you. Go eat a doughnut. Coconut doughnuts certainly had their moment. Maple bacon doughnuts are as common as apple pie. What's your favorite doughnut?

Homer is my spirit animal.

Man, favorite doughnut? Any really. My favorite donut places are Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, OR. and Union Sq. Doughnuts in Somerville. Seriously, if you haven't been to Union Sq Doughnuts do go. there's also a location in Inman Sq and the Boston Public Market (formerly Haymarket Sq).

@ Mason - You've been to Voodoo Doughnut! I have seen their doughnuts and they are the vanguard of doughnut technology. Never been. Probably will never get there.

The last doughnut(s) I had were a cocunut and a chocolate coconut. I like glazed but they moosh down to quick. Chocolate is always a good choice. More than likely I will be going to DDs to get my free doughnut in about an hour.

Union Square Donuts are pretty fucking good. If you get there early enough you can still get em while they're hot.

I recently tried Holy Donuts, in Portland, ME. They put mashed potatos in their donuts. They're really good.

I'd put them up against Union Sq. donuts.

I think Kane's (somewhere in the financial district, I think) has the best Boston Cream donut.

I know Union Square has some great donuts, but Kane's is pretty fucking excellent too.

Yeah, Holy Donut is a must. I remember scarfing one down when I was hungover at that one Standish tournament.

That was shortly before pulling my models off their display board and taking half of the board with them.
