Zuckerberg and wife to "cure all disease" with $3 billion

Postby NobleSavage » Thu Sep 22, 2016 10:44 am

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative just announced one of its biggest investments to date: It is ponying up more than $3 billion to kickstart "Chan Zuckerberg Science," an initiative that plans to bring together multidisciplinary teams of scientists in an effort to prevent, cure or manage "all diseases in our children's lifetime."

The project is reminiscent of Calico, Google's high-profile, secretive, and often-questioned mission to solve death. In partnership with the University of California, San Francisco; the University of California, Berkeley; and Stanford University, the initiative will create an independent research facility called "Biohub."

The $3 billion investment will be spent over the next decade. For some perspective, it's worth noting that the fiscal 2016 budget for the National Institutes of Health is more than $31 billion.

In other optimistic-bordering-on-delusional investment news, the mysterious, anonymous YouTube star and CEO of RonCo Industries has announced he will establish a manned base on Mars by investing $1,332.25 annually, for 10 years. The RonCo chief officer said "That's the cost of one grande-sized Starbucks latte a day, for a year. Don't worry, I can spare it. Now, TO MARS!!!!!"
"Either way, if you do touch their junk, don't treat it like you want your own treated. Treat it WAY Better."

That's Ron for you Campbell. On the other hand it does sound like they're building Ultron. He would cure all disease... by ending all human life. I'd read the fine print on that one.

an effort to prevent, cure or manage "all diseases in our children's lifetime."

Not to seem obtuse, but is that the lifetime the average child lives to or one of the lifetime of a kid with one of those diseases? Cause some of those can be really short and that might not be enough time to cure everything. Just saying...

Woah, truth. Except Elon Musk is Stark, and I don't think Zuck is Mr. Green And Angry.

Maybe it's some kind of mind virus? Baron Zemo?

Well then Trump is clearly Hatemonger. It's sadly very fitting in name and origin.
