I really enjoyed it. (And how often do you hear me say that?)

It was a good "first contact" tale. It tackles the "will we even be able to communicate with them" question--aliens probably won't have magic telepathy, so we're gonna have to figure out how to even ask them a question before we can ask them for the secrets of the universe. The movie did a good job of making you feel the fear and anxiety an alien landing would produce, and (a bit more depressing) how governments and militaries would react. Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner were both good as the leads. (Renner surprised me, because I'd forgotten that he'd been in The Hurt Locker, and could actually act.)
