Calling all coaches: Coaches Meeting

Postby nick_nameless » Sun Jun 15, 2014 12:24 pm

I would like to hold a coaches meeting on Thursday June 26 at 7 PM. I would like to present some changes to the league format intended to move us away from the scheduling nightmares we have had in past seasons and hear your feedback.

If you are thinking of playing in the upcoming league, please attend and lend your thoughts. Bring some teams for open league action and any ideas you might have for the league. We can also discuss when to start the next league.

The site seems to be bringing up php errors which may be due to SQL errors. There also seems to be some CSS changes which put white text on a white background. Are we sure things are working on the site?

Actually, don't think I can make it now. Have a good discussion.

It's time to watch the other pitch.

USA v Germany!

Think you will have to wait a month until the next round?

Hey,

Were there any conclusions from this meeting? My bad for missing it... been away from the boards and such but would like to get involved again.

Well there were a total of 4 coaches at the meeting and we discussed some of the problems from the last seasons. We made suggestions for improvement and things we might like to see and the New Commish (Nick Nameless aka Jim) talked about his ideas for the new format.

It was productive.

I would be expecting information in the new few weeks regarding the details for the new season. Once the Eagles isn't a sweat box,

As Jack said, we talked about a lot of things...

New Season structure
New Playoff Format
Getting the Software upgraded (Completed already by Jeremy)
New Commish - Jimmy
Me being a kind of permanent "backup commish" with zero powers but with the ability to schedule games in case of issues like last year.
Banning High Elves
Confirmed setting the "bank" to 150k which Cody had it set to last year and seemed to work.
No changes to any of the existing house rules that we've got in place.
Talked about a way to "encourage" players to move to a new team after 3+ seasons with the same one, but didn't want to do things like force a retirement... I think this was the only thing that was left as a "think on it"...

Jim had great ideas for the Season and Playoffs and overall structure. I won't steal his thunder by posting the details, especially since I'll get 3/4 of them wrong... :)

Banning High Elves is an interesting update

Someone has forgotten to give Travis credit for winning Season V. It still reads Greg as the Champion for season IV. I mean I know y'all gave up but he still won the season

Agreed. We also need to get that trophy to him as well. Anyone have any idea where that went? Who had it last?
