Cool. I'm probably going to sign up for Henchman Hardcore. Maybe one other event...

Z: Are you just interested in the minis stuff? I was thinking about trying out one of the Through the Breach sessions (probably the Friday night one)...

Did anyone else make it to TempleCon? I was only able to go on Thursday. I'm curious if attendance was better Fri-Sun. On Thursday, it was a pretty low turnout.

I played in the Henchman Hardcore tournament and an Enforcers' Brawl. Placed 3rd in Hardcore and got DFL in the Enforcers' Brawl (I played a Doppelganger - just for kicks - against two nothing beasts, Gracie, Sue and a Hooded Rider). The Brawl was hilarious tho. I flipped so badly one round, I ended up killing myself attacking Sue -- laughed the whole time.

Other than that, I just played a Shadowrun mission. I had wanted to try a Through the Breach session, but the Shadowrun mission ran over (by about 4 hours!).

Checked out a demo of Guild Ball. Interesting....

I did not. I think the move from winter hurt the minature turn out.

I think the move to summer and the fact that they still prioritize the cosplay elements over gaming a bit both hurt them.

On the other hand, CaptainCon seems to have really hit the nail on the head. They seem to be focusing on minis, board games and rpgs (in that order). I spoke to one of the organizers and it looks like they are going to dedicate the entire rotunda area to board games in 2017. That would make a pretty nice venue for getting in a few relaxing games after some hard-fought miniatures battles.

I'm hoping to bring a decent-sized crew as well.

The board game library is still a bit on the smallish size, but they are adding to it. From what I've heard, they have essentially made it an unwritten requirement for sponsors to donate games to it. We'll be supplementing with our own games, just in case.
