Game request etiquette

If you're looking for a game matchup, you can post however you feel, but by following these simple recommendations, you'll have the best luck in getting both a game now, and in the future.
    * Make the subject post something along the lines of "Game type, date/time". Example: "40k, Thur at Eagles" "BB, Anytime"

    * If someone posts a request for a matchup, try to refrain from being the first response unless you're actually responding to accept the invitation. Many people won't read matchup requests if they see it already has replies, and hijacking a match request for other topics can be frustrating

    * If you have to cancel a game, please don't wait until the last minute to notify your opponent. We all know work/life/drinking can get in the way of games sometimes, but someone sitting at the Eagles waiting for their opponent that canceled an hour before the game is just not cool.

    * If you are going to cancel/reschedule, especially on short notice, either give your opponent a call or post it openly in the matchup thread. Not everyone is checking their PMs a couple of hours before the game. By posting it openly, it's more likely that someone will have seen it and can pass the word and/or check from their phone.

    * If you're going to schedule a game, come to the game on time, and prepared. We all get stuck in traffic, forget a ruler/mini, or have a general brain fart. But showing up 30 mins late, with half your army missing, to then sit down and start to throw together a list in 5 mins is just being a douche. No one will want to play against you...

In essence, use the golden rule when planning games - treat others as you'd like to be treated...

Amendment: Please don't post to a game request thread unless you're one of the two players involved. Jokes, tangents, offers to play "Hungry Hungry Hippos if so-and-so drops out but only if I can get someone to watch my kids", etc., just confuse the issue.
